Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Ghana India Chamber of Commerce collects through this website, why, and what your rights are.

Draft for legal review. This text is written against what the platform
actually collects and does, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Please have the
client's counsel approve both legal pages before launch. Both become CMS-editable in
Phase 4.
What we collect
- Membership applications: your name, contact details, nationality, professional and company information, industry, business interests, and any supporting documents or images you upload.
- Enquiries and matchmaking requests: your name, contact details, company, country, and the content of your enquiry.
- Event registrations: your name, contact details, company, role, country and any dietary or accessibility requirements you tell us.
- Newsletter subscriptions: your email address only.
- Payments: a transaction reference from our payment provider. Card details are handled entirely by the provider and never reach our servers.
Why we use it
- To assess and administer membership applications, renewals and the member directory.
- To route your enquiry to the right officer and follow it up.
- To surface relevant counterparties through business matchmaking, and to facilitate introductions.
- To administer events you register for, including on-site check-in.
- To send Chamber updates and trade intelligence, where you have asked us to.
What is published
- Approved corporate members receive a public profile page containing the company name, industry, country, location, description, products and services, and what the company is looking for and offering.
- Direct contact details are not published openly; introductions are facilitated by the secretariat.
- You can ask us to amend or withdraw your directory listing at any time.
Sharing
- We do not sell personal data.
- We share information with a counterparty only when facilitating an introduction you have asked for, or that you have agreed to.
- We use service providers for payment processing, email delivery and hosting. They process data on our instructions only.
Retention
- Membership records are kept for the duration of membership and for a reasonable period afterwards for audit and renewal purposes.
- Enquiries and matchmaking requests are retained so we can track outcomes and follow up.
- You can ask us to delete data we no longer need.
Security
- Access to member and enquiry data is restricted by role, and every administrative action is logged.
- Passwords are hashed and never stored in a readable form.
- Uploaded files are validated by type and stored so they cannot be executed.
Your rights
- You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- You can ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- You can ask us to delete data, or to stop sending you communications, at any time.
